WiL Travel Awards
Since 2018, the VCLA has been contributing to the Women in Logic Workshop series of workshops that follow the pattern of meetings such as Women in Machine Learning or Women in Engineering that have been taking place for quite some years. The workshop series which is part of the annual ACM/IEEE Symposiums on Logic in Computer Science (LICS) aims to offer the opportunity for women in the LICS community (Logic in Computer Science) to increase awareness of one another and one another’s work and to combat the feeling of isolation which can hinder especially the career development of early-career academics.
The most visible effort to support the junior colleagues in the community is the annual ACM SIGLOG/VCLA Travel Awards, which support the female and male presenters at the Women in Logic workshops all around the world.
WiL Travel Awards 2020
- Due to the virtual nature of the WiL 2020, the ACM SIGLOG/VCLA/ILLC Travel Awards will be administered in 2021.
Thanks to the generous support of SIGLOG, the Vienna Center for Logic and Algorithms (VCLA) and the Institute of Logic, Language and Computation of the University of Amsterdam (ILLC), applications for awards were invited to facilitate students and postdocs, who are authors of accepted contributions to register and travel to the WiL 2020.
The awardees of the SIGLOG/VCLA/ILLC Travel Award would be reimbursed for a portion of their travel expenses, and registration costs. There would be at most one award per contribution.
